ABOUT THERAPY
Therapy sessions last for 1 hour, unless a longer session is booked or recommended.
At the first session, I am interested in gathering a history of the difficulties and hearing each person’s view of the situation. It is important for me to gain an understanding of what changes each person would like to see. At this session, I will discuss with Client/s whether further appointments will be helpful and the frequency of these is agreed.
Sometimes clients only come for a few sessions but in some situations, it may be helpful to meet for longer. Clients can end therapy at any time and may choose to come back at a later stage for additional sessions if their situation changes, or they require further support.
Sessions are confidential between the Client/s and Therapist. In some instances, it may be helpful to share information with a client’s GP or other appropriate agencies but I would seek agreement and written consent before doing so. The boundaries of confidentiality will be fully explained in the first session.
Appointments must be changed or cancelled at least 24 hours beforehand to avoid charges for the session.
